In years gone by, every parent wanted their children to have a dictionary and a current set of encyclopedias in the home to help them to learn and aid them with homework. Since the home computer has become popular, can you remember the last time you thumbed through an encyclopedia to find some information you needed? Although they probably should know how, it is not far fetched to say that many kids today have probably never used an encyclopedia because turning on the computer ans accessing the Internet is easier and can provide all of the information in the world. It has become a staple in the home just like a television set or a radio, only the computer can open up the entire world for you in so many ways.
