Troubleshooting Your Computer When It Is Running Poorly

|

There are not many things that are more annoying and frustrating than having a home computer that will not work properly. When you purchase a new computer and it runs so fast and efficiently, you are thrilled, but sometimes in less than a year, they can slow down and seem to take forever to download things, move from program to program, connect to the Internet, move from website to website, print, open files, or you might get endless error messages. If you have a limited knowledge of computers, it can be even worse for you because you have no idea how to fix the problems. Even those who generally know their way around a computer can have difficulty locating and repairing the problems that can cause these things.
The first thing you need to do to try and fix some of these issues on your own is to go to the help and support section of your computer. You can use the instruction manual that came with your computer to show you how to get there. If you follow all of the suggestions recommended, with no success, then going on the Internet and typing in the precise problem you are having with your computer will allow you to be able to read many comments from others who might have experienced the same things with their computer and try the different methods they found that helped them.

If you are someone who does not really know that much about computers in the first place, you will need to be very cautious when making changes that might alter your computer settings. There is always a place in your help section where you can go and have your computer set back to a previous date before things started to slow down and mess up. You can do this fairly easily if you follow the instructions correctly, but you might also lose certain things in the process. The one thing you do not want to do is to make the problems worse and with amateur computers users, this can often be the result when you do not know what you are doing.

If you have tried everything you have the nerve to try and your computer is still not running correctly, your best bet is to take it to a qualified repair person. You will want to make sure the repair person is reputable because if they are not, they also might do more damage than is already there. In other words, your uncle might say he knows how fix it, but does he really? A qualified repair person will know exactly where to start to diagnose the situation. When they do get your system back up and running like new, you will want to ask them what caused the problem and how you can avoid causing it again if in fact it was your inadequate operation and not a virus, worm, or spy ware that was causing the computer malfunctions.
