more of a question please you. Spent an hour looking through the site tips but couldn`t find an answer to what I was searching for, could you please tell me if / how I can save an Animated Gif attachment — then open it again to view it — without it opening up the Email program when I want to re-view it ? or is it the type of problem that cannot be worked round? hope you can understand what I mean. if not I`ll resend it in more detail, Thanks, & cheers from ezz
Unfortunately, the answer to Eric's question is a function of the individual email program being used.
An animated gif is actually a series of individual gif images that have been combined into a specifically-formatted gif file such that they are shown in a looping series.
Unfortunately, on most web browsers and email programs, simply right-clicking and saving will save only the single image that was visible.
With the email program I use (Eudora), images that are embedded in arriving emails are stored in a Eudora folder called Embedded. To look at them again, I open that folder.
If your email program saves the embedded images in a directory where you can find it, then you should be able to do the same thing. The easiest way to view the animated gif file, once you find it, is to drag it into your web browser (IE, Firefox, Opera, etc).
