If you want to learn how Microsoft Word works you need to start with the Basics. Here are some Tips and Tricks on how to navigate thru your Word Document.
The Ctrl Key is essential for working in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Word. I don’t have to explain where the arrows are for; I presume we all know that. But if you use the Ctrl button in combination with the arrows you’ll hyper-jump to the next word or paragraph.
Using the Ctrl button in Combination with the arrows.
Key Combination Where to Go
Ctrl+arrow Up You’ll jump to beginning of the Previous Paragraph
Ctrl+arrow Down You’ll jump to beginning of the Next Paragraph
Ctrl+arrow right You’ll jump to beginning of the Next Word
Ctrl+arrow Left You’ll jump to beginning of the previous Word
Moving from the Beginning to the End.
Key Combination Where to Go
End To the End of the Line
Home To the Beginning of the Line
Ctrl+End To the Very end of the Word Document
Ctrl+Home To the Very top of the Word Document
Using the Page Up and Page Down Buttons.
It would be logical if you move to the next page when you pressed the Page Down button but this isn’t so in Microsoft Word. When you press the Page Down button you’ll only jump to the next screen in your Word Document.
Key Combination Where to Go
Ctrl+PgUP You’ll jump to the Top of the Next page
Ctrl+PgDown You’ll jump to the Bottom of the Next page
Ctrl+Alt+PgUP You’ll jump to the Top of your Current Screen
Ctrl+Alt+PgDown You’ll jump to the Bottom of your Current Screen
