The national web broadcast
I received the following email after the recent Cyber Security webcast " Are YOU The Weakest Link? (What To Look For And What To Do)" The webcast was designed for home users, professionals, businesses and others.
The webcast was a non-technical discussion about what each of us should do on a daily basis to be more cyber secure. This session focused on the human elements of cyber security, which are just as important, if not more so, than the technical elements, and included examples of the various types of scams and pitfalls we need to watch out for, and how to protect ourselves.
The archives of this presentation are available in the link shown below.
The E-mail
The latest webcast in the National Webcast Initiative program was conducted on October 19 and was a tremendous success! More than 1,400 individuals from across the country and around the world registered to participate in "Are YOU the Weakest Link?" which featured presentations from Patrick Gray, Director of the X-Force National Emergency Response Team, ISS, Inc and Alan Paller, Director of Research, SANS Institute. The session also included opening remarks from William Pelgrin, Chair of the Multi-State Information Sharing and Analysis Center (MS-ISAC) and Larry Hale, Director of Outreach and Awareness at US-CERT.
The session provided practical, non-technical advice about what each of us can do to protect ourselves in cyberspace.
We wish to thank the presenters and the participants who helped make the event such a success.

About the National Webcast Initiative: The Department of Homeland Security US-CERT and the Multi-State Information Sharing and Analysis Center (MS-ISAC) have partnered to establish the National Webcast Initiative to develop a series of national webcasts which will examine critical and timely cyber security issues. Embracing the concept that security is everyone’s responsibility, these webcasts will be available to a broad audience to help raise awareness and knowledge levels. A number of vendors have offered their services at no cost to government, to help develop and deliver the webcasts.
The National Webcast Initiative is also coordinated by the New York State Office of Cyber Security and Critical Infrastructure Coordination and the New York State Forum.
