Select a Word – Double click on the word, the MS Word editor selects the space behind the word too. The punctuation behind the word is ignored.
Select a sentence – Press CTRL and click on the sentence that you want to select.
Select a paragraph – Triple click somewhere within the paragraph
Paste plain text – When you copy the text from a Web page or another document, the text brings the source’s formatting into your document. If you don’t want the formatting go to the edit menu, choose paste special and select one of the unformatted text options.
Be wiser, expand your vocabulary – If you think a certain word doesn’t fit in nicely in your document. Right click on the word and you’ll see the option synonyms where Microsoft is presenting you a list with possible other words.
Add a border to a page – To add a border to your page in Microsoft Word 2003; open the Format menu, select the Borders and Shading and click on the Page Border tab. Select your border and click OK. In MS Word 2007 you’ll need to go to page layout and then select page border. Ill be posting a article about this next week.
Quickly jump between documents – If you work in multiple documents; press CTRL+F6 to jump to the next document. To jump back you’ll need to press CTRL+SHIFT+F6.
Faster Go To – Double click on the left end of the status bar to bring up the Find and Replace window with an open Go To tab. You can use this to jump to an item in your document such as bookmark, a line, a comment etc.
Save your new styles – If you like the font/format of your paragraph, then select it and type the name in the style box on the formatting toolbar and press enter.
Save multiple documents at once – If you are working in multiple documents; press SHIFT and go the file menu and above save as you’ll now see save all.
