A Quick Tip for Changing the Language in Microsoft Word

|

Let’s say you are already working in a document and you want to change the language English US to English UK. Simple selecting another language isn’t always enough for stopping Microsoft Word to jump back to English US. The problem is that MS Word thinks in language per template and not per sentence or word.

The Microsoft Word 2003 Tutorial

Choose Tools.
Go to language.
And select set language.
Select the language you want.
And click on OK.

This is the official way, you can also click on the language button in the lower part of your Word application.

Now you set the use of another language per word or per sentence.

If your Word application is using the other, in this case English US language for his template it won’t take long before Word automatically sets the default language back to English US.

If you want to set the entire document to English UK you have to press CTRL+A first to select every symbol, word, space and sentence in your document. Now that you have everything selected you need to follow the steps as mentioned above and the entire document is set on English UK.

The Microsoft Word 2007 Tutorial

The whole setup as Microsoft Word 2003 is the same. You should first press CTRL+A to select the entire document.

The only difference with Word 2007 is that you don’t have the option to access to the language settings via the toolbar; you need to access the language setting via the language button in the lower part of your Window.
