How to Fix Runtime Error R6025

|

When a program that is running in the Microsoft Windows operating system ends suddenly, an error report is compiled by the operating system and then a specific error message is displayed on the screen to help the user troubleshoot the problem. If you have received the message that reads "Runtime error R6025 Pure Virtual Function Call," then the program you are using has been corrupted in some way and will need to be deleted and then re-installed.

Step 1 Close down the program entirely that threw the R6205 runtime error message to you. Open up the operating system's task manager window by pressing the "Ctrl," "Alt," and "Delete" buttons all together at the same time. Click on "Start Task Manager."

Step 2 Navigate to the "Processes" tab and then click on the "Image Name" button. Scroll down through the list of programs and check to make sure the original program that gave the error message is not on the list. Click on the name of the program if it is in the list and then click on "End Process."

Step 3 Close the task manager window and then click on the Start button at the bottom left corner of your desktop. Click on the "Control Panel" option and then click the "Programs and Features" icon. Wait for all the programs installed on your computer to populate in the center panel of the window. Find the program that gave you the error message and click on it. Click on the "Remove Program" button at the top of the window.

Step 4 Close the Programs and Features window and then click on the Start menu. Click inside the Search box and then type in the phrase "Cleanmgr." Double-click on the program when it appears in the search results field. Click on the link labeled as "Files from all users." Click "Continue" and then choose the drive where the program was installed from the drop-down menu. Click "OK."

Step 5 Wait for the program to finish cleaning the files on your hard drive. Re-start the computer. Insert the installation CD for the program you deleted earlier into your computer's disc drive or navigate to the program's website and download its installation file. Follow the instructions on the screen to re-install the software program.

Step 6 Open the software program by double-clicking on its desktop icon or clicking on the name of the program in the Start menu. Attempt to use the program to make sure the runtime error message does not appear again.
