Insert a (YouTube) Video in Your PowerPoint Presentation

|

There are two steps for inserting a YouTube Video into your PowerPoint presentation.

The first step is to download the video from YouTube

This is the easy part of this PowerPoint Tip and Trick because you just have to visit this website and insert the URL and select your desired Cellphone, iPod and PC video format. Click on start and you’re done with the first step.

The second step is for inserting the YouTube video in your PowerPoint presentation

You can use for this the video formats asf, avi, mpeg, or wmv.

Before you begin, make sure that you put the movie in the same folder as your PowerPoint presentation. If you later move the PowerPoint presentation to another computer, copy the movie too. Keeping your movie in the same folder as your presentation ensures the link will still work. However, you should always test the movie on a new machine just to be certain. Re-insert the movie, if necessary.

· Now go to Insert.
· Select Movie
· And click on Movie from File.
· Now select the video you want to insert in your PowerPoint presentation.

To insert a video in the earlier PowerPoint versions you’ll need to take the following steps.

· Go to Insert
· Select Movies and Sounds
· And click on Movie from File
· Select the Video that you want to use and click OK.
· Now you are asked how you want to start the movie.

Recommend choosing automatically even if you want the movie to play when clicked. If you choose When Clicked you have to click the black box to start the movie. Because I don’t like to show the black box on the slide, I do this a little differently.

· Now Right click the movie objects (the small rectangle).
· And select Edit Movie Object.

Now the Movie Options dialog box appears.

· Select what you want.
· And then click OK.

Now you can test the video and slideshow by starting it via F5 or via the menu Slide Show and then View Show.
